Kimberley Locke had plenty of options when she auditioned for season two of American Idol. In fact, she had to forego her acceptance into law school to be on the show. After taking an impressive third place behind powerhouses Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken, she certainly made an excellent decision. While Simon initially criticized Kimberley for lacking personality, he had a change of heart by the end of the season. He went so far as to say that she, Clay, and Ruben were all worthy of winning the title of American Idol.
Since the show, Kimberley signed with Curb Records and has had eight Top 20 Adult Contemporary hits, as well as six #1’s across the various Billboard charts.
