At a mere seventeen years old, Mikalah Gordon wowed season four "Idol" fans with not only her mature voice and attitude but also with her outgoing personality. She held her own when talking to the judges, and particularly with the ornery Simon Cowell! She even drew comparisons to music icon Barbra Streisand.
Mikalah made it to an impressive 11th place on the show that season. Because of her sense of humor and stage presence, she was asked to come back and host a pre-show for the finale that year. She also sang in the beginning medley of songs by The Beach Boys as well as later in the show with Lindsey Cardinale and singer Babyface.

LaKisha Jones fans everywhere are thankful that her four year old daughter Brionne encouraged her to try out for American Idol. Having grown up singing in church choirs, it’s no wonder that LaKisha immediately knew how to command the "Idol" viewers and judges. She wowed them with her initial audition of "Think," and continued to astound them with show-stoppers like "And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going." Simon even said he "loved this girl" after she delivered that initial amazing performance. Despite her love of gospel music, you might be surprised to know that LaKisha was actually classically trained.
Many fans who attended the season six tour this summer have said that LaKisha stole the show with her moving solos. One such performance was her take on Whitney Houston’s classic, "I Will Always Love You." TV Guide interviewed LaKisha while she was on tour and asked her whether she is surprised [...]

Nadia Turner became known for her bold fashion statements while on the fourth season of "Idol," but it was her soulful, raspy voice that propelled her to an impressive 8th place during her run. One of her most memorable performances was of Dusty Springfield’s "You Don’t Have To Say You Loved Me," which ended up on the extremely popular 4th Idol compilation CD. It was so popular, in fact, that the CD went gold, selling over 500,000 copies.
Some thought it might have been the controversial Mohawk she donned the week that she got voted off that might have spelled the end for her. However, Nadia didn’t let that bother her. She was also proud of her rather obscure song choices as well, taking pride in the fact that she opened people up to new music. As she stated to MTV, "It’s really me singing songs [...]

Simon took time out of his busy schedule to answer questions from the press regarding everything from this season of "Idol" to the presidential candidates to the future of Britney Spears! Simon shot straight from the hip from the very start, as his answer to whether he thought the auditions were fun was "No, it is becoming increasingly like torture." When asked how Fantasia’s brother fared during tryouts, Simon said "He was terrible…absolutely dreadful." And when he was questioned on whether looks matter in the singing competition, Simon frankly said that it is certainly one part of the package.
His predictions for this season were just as candid and quite optimistic as well. According to Simon, there are three or four very strong guys [...]
