Bucky Covington is a critic favorite! His self-titled debut CD, which opened at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in April 2007, has been selected by critics at the Dallas Morning News and the Miami Herald as a favorite country release for 2007.
Howard Cohen of the Miami Herald selects Bucky’s self-titled debut as one of only four country CDs in the publication’s Top 100 Notable Happenings in 2007, calling it "the most heartfelt, honest CD to come out of the American Idol factory." Bucky Covington made the top 10 for Mario Tarradell’s list of Top Country Discs for 2007 in the Dallas Morning News, calling it a "worthy, honest, workingman’s country-by-way-of-Southern-rock CD."

Kimberley Locke had plenty of options when she auditioned for season two of American Idol. In fact, she had to forego her acceptance into law school to be on the show. After taking an impressive third place behind powerhouses Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken, she certainly made an excellent decision. While Simon initially criticized Kimberley for lacking personality, he had a change of heart by the end of the season. He went so far as to say that she, Clay, and Ruben were all worthy of winning the title of American Idol.
