Ya know that old movie line "Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings?" Well, these days it seems that every time a music announcement is made, an Idol gets a nomination! And today’s Grammy nomination announcements were no exception. The following Idols were nominated for Grammys:
Chris Daughtry’s band Daughtry- 4 Nominations
*Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group ("It’s Not Over")
*Best Rock Song ("It’s Not Over")-With Co-Writing Credits going to Brett "Ace" Young!

If you thought Blake Lewis looked like he was out there having a good time last season, fairly oblivious to his achievements, you’d actually be correct. In our exclusive interview with Blake, he revealed that he liked to do his own thing, and rarely even considered the voting. In fact, one night he was bowling with friends, they were all on their cell phones. When he asked them what they were doing, they said that they were all voting for him!
That doesn’t mean that he wasn’t pleased with his ultimate success, however. As he likes to call it, "Idol" was the "best experience I’ll never have again." It’s always interesting to find out how the "Idol" contestants decide to audition for the show, as many of them don’t come from the traditional music background or training. This was the case with Nick Pedro, who thought to audition after winning a karaoke contest on a cruise with his family. It was the first time he’d ever sung in front of a large group of people, and he gladly accepted his paper crown and plastic trophy.
Nick made it to the final 24 this past season, and is very grateful for the experience. As he explains to The Enterprise, "It totally changed my life all around. I’ve gotten a lot of opportunities because of it. A lot of great things happened to me because of ‘American Idol.’ I owe them a lot."
