Who doesn’t love Bucky Covington? American Idol viewers everywhere seemed to become instant fans of the true Southern gentleman. To boot, he solidified his popularity with his country style and his ability to choose great songs for his voice. The decision for Bucky to try out for "Idol" wasn’t an easy choice for him to make, though. As he explains on his website, "I had a talk with my dad when I went to try out for American Idol. I wanted to take some time off from work and we’re not big on that. So I told him: ‘I can’t wake up when I’m 40-some years old wondering "what if?" You’ve heard me. What do you think my shot is?’ He said, ‘well, you’ve got as good a shot as anyone.’ Okay, then I gotta go."

An incredible array of talent will be special guests of Bon Jovi from October 25 through November 10, as they kick off Newarks new, state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue. Among these "special guests" is our very own Chris Daughtry’s band, Daughtry. Among the other impressive entertainers performing throughout the kick-off event are Chemical Romance, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, and others. They will each perform for two nights prior to Bon Jovi, making up one of the hottest concert tickets of the millennium. The concerts, headlined by hometown favorites Bon Jovi, are expected to draw more than 150,000 fans.
It’s no surprise that Chris holds Bon Jovi in such high regard, as his performance of the band’s "Wanted Dead or Alive" was undoubtedly one of the most popular performances in AI history.

Jon Peter Lewis, or "JPL" as he became known on "American Idol," became popular with the viewers through his multi-layered voice, signature dance moves, and his great disposition. What’s even more interesting is how he actually came to be a finalist. After cashing in his college loans in order to audition for the third season in Honolulu, Hawaii, Jon sang Van Morrison’s "Crazy Love" before the judges. As only Simon Cowell can, he cut straight to the heart of the matter by telling JPL "You have a good voice, you look like a pen salesman, and you have the personality of a mouse." Ouch! First we got wind of Elliott Yamin putting out a holiday album–then we heard that Mandisa was also releasing a holiday EP. Now Kimberley Locke’s full album, Christmas, is available online today! The set includes her #1 Billboard AC hits "Up On The Housetop," "Jingle Bells," and her new single, "Frosty the Snowman." Kimberley also gives her version of some classics, including "Last Christmas," "Merry Christmas Darling," and "Away In A Manger."

Parade.com’s Caitlin O’Toole checked in with Elliott Yamin on managing his diabetes while maintaining his successful career. With his single "Wait for You" having gone gold recently, it’s obvious that Elliott has not let his illness get in the way of his singing. He is doing so well, in fact, that he’d like to use his status to help others who have diabetes.
Elliott admits that he hasn’t always had the clarity that he has now. When he was diagnosed at 15, he tells Ms. O’Toole, "It was hard for me to adjust to treating my diabetes, but it was also hard to admit that I had it. I was in denial. That was a big hump for me to get over. I didnt understand how I could just go from being a normal kid to having this incurable lifelong disease in a matter of a days time. [...]

In 2005, the producers of "American Idol" changed the age guidelines for the show from 16-24 to 16-28. Fans everywhere are grateful to this day, as these new guidelines allowed Bo Bice to bring his southern rock style to the show.
