Superstar Carrie Underwood was honored last night with the Country Music Associations prestigious title of Female Vocalist of the Year for the second year in a row. In so doing, Carrie beat out Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire and Martina McBride.
God has blessed me with so many wonderful things, Carrie said at the star-studded Nashville, Tennessee event. Sharing the spotlight with her was Kenny Chesney who won this years Male Vocalist of the Year, as well as a veritable whos who in those in the music industry. "If you told me a few years ago I had been nominated with the people I’m nominated with, I would have called you absolutely insane, said Underwood. In addition to her repeat title, Carries hit single, Before He Cheats was also honored as CMAs Single of the year.

Who doesn’t love Bucky Covington? American Idol viewers everywhere seemed to become instant fans of the true Southern gentleman. To boot, he solidified his popularity with his country style and his ability to choose great songs for his voice. The decision for Bucky to try out for "Idol" wasn’t an easy choice for him to make, though. As he explains on his website, "I had a talk with my dad when I went to try out for American Idol. I wanted to take some time off from work and we’re not big on that. So I told him: ‘I can’t wake up when I’m 40-some years old wondering "what if?" You’ve heard me. What do you think my shot is?’ He said, ‘well, you’ve got as good a shot as anyone.’ Okay, then I gotta go."
