Last weeks nominations for the 2007 Country Music Association Awards included three American Idol alumni. While Carrie Underwood has been making country music headlines as of late, Kellie Pickler and Kelly Clarkson received nomination nods for their recent work within the genre as well.
Overall, the three Idols nominations spanned across five CMA categories.

Phil Stacey and Melinda Doolittle will soon be singing for a good cause. The award-winning Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) is celebrating its 10th anniversary as an independent chorus with a star-studded benefit concert taking place at Carnegie Hall Monday, October 22 at 7 p.m. The cast of stars will join the choristers on stage to celebrate their momentum into their second decade of bringing children of all ethnic, religious, and economic backgrounds together to entertain audiences world-wide. Along with Melinda Doolittle and Phil Stacey, Tony-winner Christian Hoff and Bobby Spencer from Jersey Boys, CNN’s Soledad O’Brien, and reggae artist Maxi Priest will be a part of the event.
