Just one day after being released to iTunes, Carrie Underwood’s newest single "So Small" took over the top spot on the iTunes Country Songs list. Overall, Carrie’s single currently stands at #3 on the overall iTunes Top Songs list.
Carrie’s newest hit not only achieved personal bests for the well-decorated Season Four winner, but made Country music history in the process. "So Small" is the first single off Carrie’s second album entitled "Carnival Ride," which is slated for an October 23 release.

The first American Idol in history is still drawing huge crowds for her live performances. Kelly Clarkson is set to announce her fall tour in the coming weeks and, if her New York shows in October are any indication, she’s going to pack concert halls across the nation. Concert tickets for two of her shows at New York Citys Beacon Theater (October 15th and 16th) went on sale this past weekend and, according to the organizers, it sold out in just under 20 minutes. A third show was immediately added for Sunday, October 14th, and it, too, sold out over the weekend.

Two popular Idols will soon be testing their knowledge for charity. In November, Clay Aiken and Kellie Pickler are set to appear on FOX’s popular show, "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" We saw first hand on American Idol that Kellie now knows what calamari and a "minx" are, so hopefully the rest of it will come easy! Best of luck to both of them!

Carrie Underwood continues to reign on the Billboard charts. Only 21 songs in the history of the Hot 100 have had a longer chart run than her cross-over hit, "Before He Cheats," which coasts 24-28 in its 51st chart week. It’s the longest run on the charts since the Fray’s "How to Save a Life" completed its 58 weeks.

Apparently Philadelphia appealed to many people vying for the title of the next American Idol, as the 7th and final city on the audition tour hit record numbers. The tally for the last cull city for AI-7 is 20,000 auditioners. 20,000! Let’s hear it for the City of Brotherly Love!

The producers behind mega-hit phenomenon AMERICAN IDOL take the musical reality genre to a whole new performance level with a mission to find undiscovered groups on THE NEXT GREAT AMERICAN BAND. Singer/songwriter John Rzeznik (The Goo Goo Dolls), legendary percussionist and performer Sheila E. (The Glamorous Life, A Love Bizarre) and Australian TV personality Ian Dicko Dickson (Australian Idol) will serve as judges while Dominic Bowden (New Zealand Idol) hosts the series, premiering Friday, Oct. 19 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The show will air in its regular time period on Fridays (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).
From the auditions, the shows judges " Rzeznik, Sheila E. and Dickson " will narrow down the hopefuls to 10 semifinalist bands who will perform weekly in front of a live studio audience. American Idol finalist Blake Lewis is currently working on his debut album after signing with 19 Recordings/ARISTA Records. A diversity of producers, including Jonathan "JR" Rotem [Rihanna’s "SOS"], chart-topping artist Sean Kingston, and S*A*M & Sluggo [Gym Class Heroes and Boys Like Girls], are currently working with the beat-boxing Washington native on the anticipated album.

Any chance you get to see your favorite Idol perform is probably an amazing experience. But how about the opportunity to get up close and personal? Anthony Federov is offering just that with his next show. On September 6th, he is holding a limited seating concert for only 500 people, with a special meet-and-greet during the event. Anthony will be performing about sixteen songs, which will be a combination of covers and originals.
The tickets will become available on Friday, August 10th, at 12PM, but Fan Club members can purchase tickets for the first 24 hours before the general public. Just go to the forum section of his fan web site and find the Concert Tickets post.
